Market pulse
What’s hot and what’s not in this week’s grocery diet.
Week of September 15, 2026. One item on each list is public. The rest of the Monday brief — prices, what to skip, what to double — is $10 a month.

Salmon sat this week out
Fillets jumped again on the West Coast. We swapped to tinned sardines and tuna in olive oil — same omega-3 job, a quieter price. Chicken thighs rest; ground turkey is the skillet protein.
Two more notes this Monday.
Inflation, fake sugar-free syrups, fiber theater — members get the rest before they shop.

Tinned fish that is actually food
Sardines and tuna in olive oil are cheap omega-3s with a protein floor. The 2026 pantry revival is real — as long as the tin isn’t swimming in sweet chili sauce.
Buy olive-oil packs. Drain nothing you wouldn’t drink. Lemon and onion do the rest.
The rest of what’s hot is paid.
Titles you can guess. The why — and what to buy this week — is the brief.

Pumpkin-spice protein drinks
September’s seasonal sugar just put a gourd on the label. A latte or a ‘protein shake’ with 18 g added sugar is still a dessert.
Cinnamon on kefir. The spice was never the problem. The syrup is.
The skip list is the other half.
If you can read every ‘not’ for free, nobody pays. Members get the week’s actual leave-it list.
